Hi,
My name is Jerry Smith, I live in a small village called Somerton, Ohio. Somerton is about 30 miles from West Virginia. I have a farm and do many things as these are my retirement years.
The field behind my house is my target range, even thou I belong to two local gun clubs. I shoot high power rifles, semi auto pistols, contenders, some large bore rifles and I own a rifle big enough to take out a moose.
I cast my own bullets, load my own ammo and try to practice weather permitting.

M1As and other variations of the M14
I went thru boot camp on the m14 and have really liked the rifle over the years. I currently have am M1A that is setup for varmint hunting here in Eastern Ohio, where we have Coyotes.
Normally I would target shoot with this rifle, but I find match ammo in this rifle really does the trick on Coyotes, but I can quickly turn it back into a rifle to do target shooting.
Anyone else using an M1A or other M14 variation for targets and varmints?
Jerry

Bullet Lubes for Cast Bullets
I have used many different lubes over the years. I own a Star Sizer and Luber, as well as a RCBS Lubamatic, so some lubes are hollow and others are solid.
I trying to making my own lubes, trying to come up with different mixtures to give me the best lubes for the purpose of a style of bullet. One lubes doesn't do everything, or at least not well in some cases.
What do you use for lube and what lube sizer do you use?

Bullet Casting
I cast a great of my bullets, I use many different alloys, but is a simple list of my main alloys:
1) 2% Tin 98% lead this is for most bullets
2) Wheel Weights can be used as a general alloy for many bullets
4) Linotype for my fast rifle bullets
For my Muzzle Loader, I use pure lead.
